PolyAI – From vanilla plug and play space to dialed-in on brand

"Motive took what we wanted to do with the brand – premium and elevated – and were still able to be creative with it. They challenged how we thought about the brand creatively and how we can interpret that in terms of space." - ylie Whitehead – VP of Brand & Marketing

PolyAI, creators of the world’s most lifelike conversational AI voice assistants – preventing keeping their client’s customers on hold – recently relocated their rapidly-growing team to Paddington to reflect their distinct culture and ways of working.

Motive were brought in to adapt the existing Cat A+ fit-out to express PolyAI’s purpose, people, and future.

Collaborating closely with PolyAI’s brand and people teams, Motive realised the team’s long-held dreams – such as a custom London phone box and phone museum—while amplifying the brand’s functional and creative essence.

Visitors are greeted by the classic operator phrase “How can I help?”, illuminated against shimmering black tiles inspired by PolyAI’s textured brand graphics, opposite a physical timeline of phone evolution, hand painted in brand colours, culminating in their very own custom phone box.

In the boardroom, framed Chladni plates—visual sound wave patterns—sit atop the acoustic wall, alongside a 3D-printed logo made from phone receivers – the inspiration behind PolyAI’s logo – each subtly featuring the PolyAI mark.

The open plan was reconfigured with added desks, soft seating and an all hands area. Meeting rooms feature artwork referencing British colloquial greetings, reflecting the software’s ability to understand diverse accents. A customisable pegboard completes the space, encouraging ownership amongst the team.

PolyAI’s new home communicates their brief’s key talking points of premium, inventive and playful – connecting the dots to what the brand stands for on a day to day basis.
