Wild, the industry leading sustainable deodorant and personal care company, brought Motive and Soul Spaces on board to ensure their new Brixton based office catered to their flourishing growth, as well as their all-important brand.

The brief was to not only take the experience of working at Wild to another level, but to ensure the space was a physical embodiment of their identity; bold, playful, direct, approachable and warm, “like a best mate on a hen do”.

The approach from the outset was fittingly sustainable, having inherited a functional space that required limited yet smart construction works. Partitions were redesigned to ensure the office worked as required for Wild’s communal and open culture, with focus placed heavily on textures, finishes and installations that were unmistakingly Wild.
Upon entry you’re greeted with an outrageous pink furry wall, adorned with the Wild logo, which sets the scene for an attention grabbing and highly tactile design.

The bespoke reception desk that greets you, inspired by Wild’s original aqua deodorant case, showcases flowers blooming from where the deodorant stick would typically appear, opening visitors’ senses to Wild’s nature-driven approach.

The early direction from the client team was to “drench the space in colour” and that’s apparent as the organic shapes and vibrant tones in reception combine in a way that possibly shouldn’t work, but the more-is-more approach is undeniable.
Whilst waiting, visitors are encouraged to use the treat-dispenser, where tokens are provided to allow for a mystery Wild gift to emerge from the hot-pink gumball machine.

As an odour-lead brand, it made scents 😉 to name each meeting room after their best sellers, with each note brought to life through feature rugs, bespoke console tables, feature pendant lights and playful trinkets. Stand out features are the ‘Thunderstorm’ boardroom’s raincloud lighting and the radiant rug that beams in the ‘Sunkissed’ room.

The all-hands / evening drinks cultural space welcomes you into the heart of the company as you enter the vast open plan area, with deodorant case inspired cabinet bar at the ready.

Wild’s products are displayed throughout the space, on straight forward yet bold blue shelving and also an innovative anti-gravity installation, answering the brief to both “surprise and delight”.
An area for quick catchups or quiet working is styled fittingly for Wild’s “bathroom revolution”, where 2 alcoves are tiled and fitted with retro-fitted showerheads, where users can twist hot and cold taps to dim lighting that emits from the showerheads.

Wild’s relentlessly positive and cheeky manner is reflected in obvious ways – their polar bear mascot dancing on a plinth under a disco ball – and in more subtle ways – googly eyes hidden on inanimate objects, in unexpected places, throughout.

Wild’s new workspace is all at once luscious and nurturing, unique and insane, immersive and inventive. It’s a curvaceous and colourful treat in a world of self-care, and also office design, that often takes itself too seriously.
