West Yorkshire born Laura is currently (2023) studying fine art at Central Saint Martins and crochets quintessentially British motifs as a tongue in cheek exploration of our cultural makeup.

“A lot of my work looks at complexities and the value of the mundane, experimenting with meticulous but traditionally undervalued feminine craft processes. These pieces in particular were a response to Britishness, based in nostalgia and with influence from my Northern background.”

Ice Cream and Darts were commissioned especially for Hearst as iconic cornerstones of Britishness, drawing parallels with Hearst’s more historic publications.
